Ingredients

  • 500 g hawthorn fruit (harvested after first frost)
  • 150 g sugar
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 l gin

Instructions

    Wash the hawthorns, remove stems and pat dry. Combine with sugar, cloves, and cinnamon stick in a large mason jar. Fill with gin and seal tightly. Let steep in a warm, dark place for 8-10 weeks, shaking occasionally.

    Afterward strain through a cloth or fine sieve and bottle the hawthorn gin into pre-warmed bottles.
