The savoy cabbage dish with pine nuts and sesame from Spoonsparrow tastes as good as a main course or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kg savoy cabbage (1 head)
  • Salt
  • 1 white onion
  • 30 g sesame seeds (3 tbsp)
  • 40 g pine nuts
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • Pepper
  • 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. 1.

Quarter the cabbage, remove the core and cut into fine strips. Wash the strips and blanch in boiling salted water for 3–4 minutes. Immediately shock in ice water and drain well.

  2. 2.

Meanwhile peel the onion and slice into thin rings. Toast sesame seeds and pine nuts in a large pan without oil until fragrant. Add olive oil, heat, then add the cabbage. Heat over medium, season with salt and pepper, then dress with balsamic vinegar. Divide onto four deep plates and garnish with onion rings.
