Sauerkraut Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • Majoran
  • 50 g butter
  • 40 g flour
  • 100 ml White wine
  • 500 ml instant vegetable broth
  • 200 g Cream cheese
  • 250 ml Whipping Cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 8 lasagna sheets (no pre-cooking)
  • 400 g sliced deli meat
  • 250 g butter cheese
  • Chives
  • Fat (for the pans)

Instructions

    Drain and finely chop sauerkraut. Finely chop majoran leaves. Melt butter in a pot, add flour and sauté while stirring. Gradually whisk in wine, broth, cream cheese, and whipping cream. Bring sauce to a boil. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar. Add majoran and sauerkraut and simmer uncovered for 4 minutes.

    Layer alternately lasagna sheets, sauerkraut, deli meat, and butter cheese in a greased baking dish. The final layer should be sauerkraut and butter cheese.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (gas: level 3-4, fan: 180°C) for 30 minutes. Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before serving. Rinse chives, shake dry, and cut into fine ribbons. Sprinkle over the lasagna.
