Ingredients

  • 12 slices toast bread
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 400 g cherry tomatoes
  • 24 sardine fillets (in oil)
  • 200 g black olives (pitted)
  • 0.5 lemon juice
  • pepper (ground)
  • Sea salt
  • 1 handful basil

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to grill mode.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the toast slices on it. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and bake under the grill until golden brown. Remove from oven and rub the cut sides of halved garlic cloves over the toasted bread. Flip the slices and roast again in the oven until golden brown. Take out and top with cheese slices. Wash, clean, and halve the tomatoes. Pat the sardines dry. Halve the well-drained olives and spread them together with the tomatoes and sardines on the toast. Drizzle with lemon juice and remaining oil, season with pepper and a pinch of sea salt. Roast under the grill for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
