Ingredients

  • 5 egg whites
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 tbsp whipping cream
  • 1 vanilla pod (including the seeds)
  • 3 tbsp flour (sifted)
  • butter (for greasing the pan)
  • powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions

    Gather all ingredients.

    Whisk the egg yolks with vanilla seeds and cream, then beat in 1 tbsp vanilla sugar until fluffy and creamy.

    Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until very stiff; gradually add powdered sugar and continue beating to form a very creamy meringue.

    Fold the meringue into the yolk mixture.

    Sift flour over the batter and gently fold everything together.

    Grease the baking dish well with butter.

    Pour the batter into the dish, decorate with a tablespoon of extra batter on top, then bake at 200°C (392°F) in a preheated oven for about 12 minutes without opening the door.
