Ingredients

  • 1 roasted chicken (pre‑cooked, about 1.4 kg)
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • vegetable oil (for the roasting pan)
  • 350 g Mushrooms
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 100 g freshly grated cheese (e.g., Gouda)
  • thyme (for garnish)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C with top and bottom heat.

    Wash the chicken, pat dry, season inside and out with salt and pepper, and place breast side down in a greased roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes.

    In the meantime, clean the mushrooms and quarter them.

  4. 4.

    Peel the garlic, press it into the mushrooms, season with salt and pepper. After half of the cooking time, turn the chicken over and sprinkle with cheese. Arrange the mushrooms around the chicken and continue roasting to finish.

    Serve garnished with thyme.
