Ingredients
- 300 g red lentils
- 150 g Basmati rice
- 1 white onion
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1.5 l vegetable broth
- salt (cayenne pepper)
- Basil
Instructions

Wash the rice thoroughly in a sieve under running water, set it in lightly salted water at 1½ times its volume, bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes until cooked.

Peel and halve the onion lengthwise, cut into fine strips, sauté in hot olive oil in a pot until translucent, add pressed garlic, tomato paste and paprika, cook while stirring. Add vegetable broth, bring to a boil, add washed lentils and cook for 10–15 minutes, season with salt and cayenne pepper.

Slice basil into fine ribbons.

Serve the lentil soup on plates, add rice, garnish with basil ribbons.
