Spoonsparrow Rice Flakes Porridge with apple‑pear compote provides a warm, gentle start to the day.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml rice drink (rice milk)
  • 100 g rice flakes
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 small apple (≈100 g)
  • 1 pear
  • a pinch cardamom powder
  • 300 g low‑fat quark
  • 2 tsp pumpkin seeds (≈5 g)

Instructions

    Bring the rice drink to a boil in a small pot over high heat, then stir in the rice flakes and cinnamon; reduce to low heat and let thicken for about 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile wash and peel the apple and pear, cut into bite‑sized pieces. Add them with 150 ml water and cardamom to a pan and simmer over medium heat for about 5–6 minutes.

    In the meantime whisk the quark with 3 tbsp water until smooth and spread onto shallow plates. Spoon the rice flakes porridge and apple‑pear compote on top, sprinkle with pumpkin seeds, and serve.
