Red Wine Figs

The red wine figs are ideal with game meat or as a dessert. This versatile recipe is available at Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 500 g fresh fig
  • 0.5 Organic lemon
  • 500 ml dry red wine
  • 5 tbsp whole cane sugar
  • 1 packet canning helper

Instructions

    Wash and halve the figs. Wash the lemon, grate it dry and slice it. Bring the wine with lemon slices and 3 tbsp sugar to a boil, add the figs and let them simmer for about 3 minutes. Remove the figs from the broth and fill jars.

    Bring the remaining broth with sugar to a boil again and taste. Stir in the canning helper according to the package instructions. Pour the hot broth over the fruit so that it is completely covered.

    Seal the filled jars immediately and let them cool upside down.
