- 1 package potato dumpling mix (ready dough)
- 250 g poppy seeds
- Salt
- 1 jar black currants (drained weight 350g)
- 3 tsp fine cornstarch
- 3 tsp blackberry jam
- 2 tbsp port wine
- powdered sugar (for dusting)

Stir the dumpling mixture according to package instructions. Knead in poppy seeds and let soak for 10 minutes.

Shape 8 dumplings from the dough, place them in lightly salted water and cook on low heat as directed on the package.

Drain the black currants, reserving about 300 ml of juice. Mix 5 tbsp cherry juice with cornstarch. Bring the remaining juice together with cherries, jam, and port wine to a boil. Stir in the starch mixture. Boil the sauce again, then let cool.

Arrange the poppy seed dumplings on top of the cherry sauce and dust with powdered sugar.
