Ingredients

  • 300 g flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp Sour cream
  • 200 g butter
  • flour (for the work surface)
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp Lemon juice
  • food coloring (green and orange)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Mix the flour with the sugar, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt; sift onto the work surface. Create a well in the center, add the sour cream, and spread the butter in small flakes around the well. Using a large knife, cut all ingredients from the edge to the center into crumbly pieces, then quickly knead with your hands into a smooth dough. Shape into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) fan‑forced or conventional.

  3. 3.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1 cm thickness and cut pumpkin shapes with an appropriate cutter. Place them on parchment paper on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until light yellow. Remove, lift off the parchment, and let cool.

  4. 4.

Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice into a thick glaze; take 4 Tbsp apart, color one part green and the remaining part orange with food coloring.

  5. 5.

Decorate the pumpkins with the colored glazes, allow to dry, and serve.
