Potato Gratin with Celery and Apple

Ingredients

  • 8 stalks celery
  • Salt
  • 400 g Potatoes
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 125 g mozzarella (1 ball)

Instructions

    Clean and wash celery, cut into about 4 cm pieces, and boil in salted water for 6-8 minutes until al dente. Remove, drain, and set aside 200 ml of cooking water.

    Peel, wash potatoes, and cook in salted water for about 25 minutes. Drain, cool, and slice.

    Wash apples, quarter them, remove cores, and cut into wedges. Place celery with the potatoes and apples in a greased baking dish.

    Stir the reserved cooking water with crème fraîche, season with salt and cayenne pepper, and pour over the casserole. Slice mozzarella and distribute on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
