Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 kg waxy potatoes
  • 2 Eggs
  • 500 ml milk
  • 50 g crème double
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 150 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • butter (for greasing the pans)

Instructions

    Peel the garlic clove. Rub it into baking dishes and then grease with butter. Wash, peel, and slice the potatoes very thin or use a mandoline. Layer potato slices in the dishes, seasoning with salt and pepper.

    Whisk together eggs, milk, and crème double, then pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 30 minutes until golden yellow.
