The ground beef potato casserole from Spoonsparrow is easy to prepare and ideal for take‑out!

Ingredients

  • 600 g potatoes (cooked in skin, peeled and sliced)
  • 400 g tomatoes (sliced)
  • 300 g Ground Beef
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Tbsp clarified butter
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tsp Marjoram
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 leeks (cleaned, white and light green parts sliced)
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 250 g Gruyère cheese (grated or Appenzeller, etc.)

Instructions

    Sauté onions and bay leaf in clarified butter, press in garlic and cook the ground beef while stirring; add mustard, tomato paste, salt, pepper and herbs. Stir well.

    Layer the vegetables with the meat alternately in a greased baking dish, topping each potato layer with leeks; season each potato layer with salt, pepper and sprinkle cheese on top.

    Bake the casserole at 180°C for about 40 minutes until golden.
