- 1 kg potatoes (starchy, boiling)
- 300 g heavy cream
- 100 ml whole milk
- butter (for greasing the pan)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)

Grease a baking dish well with butter. Peel the potatoes and grate them thin onto a kitchen towel. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Layer the potato slices in the prepared dish, whisk together milk and cream, pour over the potatoes, and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (medium rack) for about 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
