Ingredients

  • 1 kg flour
  • 42 g fresh yeast (1 cube)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 500 ml lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Chives

Instructions

    Whisk the yeast with the water and honey until smooth. In a mixing bowl combine the flour, oil, and salt; add the dissolved yeast and mix with the paddle attachment of an electric hand mixer, kneading into a smooth dough, adding more water or flour as needed.

    Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.

    Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead again. Grease a heavy round Dutch oven (about 5 L capacity) and place the dough inside; allow to rise for another 30 minutes.

    Bake covered in a preheated oven at 200°C for 30 minutes, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 20 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.

    Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chive ribbons and sea salt, and let cool before serving.
