Ingredients

  • 2 kg ripe plums
  • 500 g sugar
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 sachet canning aid

Instructions

    Wash, halve and pit the plums. Combine with 800 ml water, sugar and cinnamon in a large pot and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes.

    Place a clean, damp muslin cloth between two chair legs and strain the fruit juice into a lower pot. Press the remaining plum mash through the cloth with a spoon.

    Bring to a rolling boil again, add lemon juice and canning aid, then immediately pour into preheated bottles. Seal and let cool completely. Store in a dark, cool place.
