Plum Jam

Ingredients

  • 1 kg plums
  • 1 piece ginger (about 2 cm long)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 kg preserve sugar
  • 1 packet citric acid

Instructions

    Score the plums crosswise, briefly rinse with hot water, peel, halve, remove pits, dice. Peel ginger and grate finely. Mix plums and ginger, add water to reach 1 kg total, add preserve sugar and cinnamon stick, cover and let steep for about 6 hours.

    Then slowly bring to a boil together with the cinnamon stick, simmer while stirring for 3 minutes until sparkling. Remove cinnamon stick, stir in citric acid and immediately pour hot into prepared jars, seal well.
