Ingredients

  • 500 g liquid honey
  • 300 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 15 g deer antler salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.25 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.25 tsp ground ginger powder
  • 1 kg flour
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • Butter (for the baking trays)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Brush two baking trays with butter. Warm honey over low heat until it becomes runny. Mix sugar, eggs, deer antler salt and all spices well with the honey. Gradually fold in sifted flour, then knead gently.

  2. 2.

Shape small balls about 2 cm in diameter from the dough and place them on the trays with some space between each. Bake sequentially in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10–15 minutes until the cookies are golden yellow. Remove and cool on a wire rack.

  3. 3.

Boil powdered sugar with a little water while stirring, then brush the peppernuts with this glaze, place them on a wire rack, and let the glaze dry well.
