Pear compote in Grandma's style from Spoonsparrow: Bring summer into a glass!
Ingredients
- 3 kg pears
- 3 lemons
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp cloves
- 120 g coconut palm sugar
Instructions
-
1.
First sterilize the jars and lids by boiling them in a large pot with hot water for about 10 minutes. Remove the jars from the water, turn them upside down on clean kitchen towels to cool.
-
2.
Wash, peel, slice the pears into wedges, and remove the core. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice. Drizzle the lemon juice over the pear slices and layer them into the sterilized jars. Add cinnamon sticks and cloves.
-
3.
Boil about 1 liter of water with the coconut palm sugar for 2–3 minutes until sparkling. Fully cover the pears with this syrup, seal the jars, and simmer in a large pot for 20 minutes. Store the jars in a dark, cool place.
