Ingredients

  • 350 g ground beef
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • oregano (½ tsp dried)
  • basil (½ tsp dried)
  • thyme (½ tsp dried)
  • marjoram (½ tsp dried)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 cans peeled tomatoes (450 g)
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 50 ml beef broth (instant)
  • 400 g penne
  • 2 tbsp basil

Instructions

    Mix the ground beef with the spices, salt and pepper in a bowl.

    Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Heat olive oil in a pot and brown the meat, onion and garlic; deglaze with milk. Add tomatoes with juice, lightly crush, stir in tomato paste, add broth and simmer for 1½ hours over low heat, adding liquid if needed, taste and adjust seasoning.

    Cook pasta in plenty of boiling salted water until al dente, drain, then mix with the sauce and basil.
