Pasta Bake with Tomatoes and Mushrooms

A pasta bake featuring fresh tomatoes and mushrooms, a classic noodle dish from German cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 500 g spiral pasta
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 mozzarella balls (125 g each)
  • 1 onion
  • 300 g mixed mushrooms (button, oyster...)
  • 1 EL Butter
  • 250 ml heavy cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 tsp chopped rosemary

Instructions

    Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water until al dente, drain, rinse with cold water and set aside. Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella into thin rounds. Peel and dice the onion finely. Clean the mushrooms and slice them.

    Sauté the onion in hot butter until translucent, add the mushrooms and cook briefly, pour in the cream, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Combine the pasta, tomato slices, and mozzarella, transfer to a greased baking dish, pour over the sauce, and sprinkle with rosemary. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 25–30 minutes.
