Discover pan‑fried potatoes from Spoonsparrow as a hearty side dish. Extra crispy yet low in fat.

Ingredients

  • 250 g potatoes (4 potatoes; peeled boiled potatoes from the day before)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp Rapeseed oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 tsp butter

Instructions

  1. 1.

Slice the boiled potatoes into 1 cm thick rounds.

  2. 2.

Peel the onion and cut it into thin rings.

  3. 3.

Heat a large non‑stick pan, add the oil and spread it with a brush.

  4. 4.

Place the potato slices side by side in the pan and fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes.

  5. 5.

Flip the slices with a spatula and fry the other side for another 5–6 minutes.

  6. 6.

Distribute the onion rings over the potatoes, season with salt and pepper.

  7. 7.

Add small flecks of butter on top of the potatoes. Once it melts, shake the pan a few times so the butter distributes evenly.

  8. 8.

Continue frying at low heat for 5 more minutes, turning the potatoes several times. This will brown the potatoes and onions appetizingly without burning them.
