Ingredients

  • 5 untreated oranges
  • a handful of basil
  • 2 tbsp apple syrup
  • 100 ml dry white wine
  • Salt
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 0.5 tsp sweet paprika
  • 0.5 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 chicken thighs

Instructions

    Squeeze juice from two oranges, rinse the remaining ones hot and slice into rounds. Rinse the basil, set aside a few leaves for garnish, roughly chop the rest.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.

    Whisk together apple syrup, white wine, orange juice, a pinch of salt and pepper, paprika, coriander, and chopped basil. Taste the sauce.

    Brush an baking dish with oil. Rinse the chicken thighs, pat dry, and brush with the marinade. Place the orange slices in the dish and pour remaining marinade over them. Lay the chicken thighs on top and bake for about 35 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven, let cool briefly, then plate with oranges. Garnish with leftover basil and serve.
