Ingredients

  • 700 g onions
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 5 Oranges
  • 5 apples
  • 150 g fresh ginger
  • 75 ml vinegar essence
  • 20 ml orange liqueur
  • 350 g sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

    Peel the onions, cut them lengthwise into halves and then into strips. Wash, core, and finely chop the tomatoes. Peel the oranges and cut them into small pieces. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove seeds, and dice. Peel the ginger and finely cube it.

    Add the prepared fruit and vegetables to a pot, add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and simmer gently for about 1½ hours, stirring occasionally. Pour the chutney into hot sterilized jars, seal immediately, place on the lid and let cool for 20 minutes, then flip and allow to cool further.
