Ingredients

  • 250 g macaroni
  • 650 ml whole milk (3.8% fat)
  • 3 tbsp Kerrygold butter
  • Salt
  • 150 g Kerrygold cheddar (shredded)
  • Pepper
  • 40 g Kerrygold butter
  • 150 g ground bread from the previous day (alternatively breadcrumbs, panko)
  • a little parsley

Instructions

  1. 1.

    Add the macaroni, milk and butter to a pot. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2.

    Reduce the heat slightly and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring regularly.

  3. 3.

    Once the pasta is cooked, add salt and cheddar cheese. Taste and adjust with more cheese, salt and pepper if desired.

    Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat for the breadcrumbs.

  5. 5.

    Stir the ground bread (or breadcrumbs/panko) into the butter and toast until golden brown.

    Sprinkle the toasted breadcrumbs and parsley over the mac & cheese before serving.
