  • 70 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 140 g butter
  • 1 egg
  • soft butter (for the pan)
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 75 g flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 75 g chopped walnuts
  • walnut halves
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Knead a shortcrust dough from flour, sugar, salt, butter and egg, wrap in cling film and chill for about 1 hour.

  2. 2.

Chop the chocolate and melt it over a hot water bath. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and fold in cold butter in pieces. Separate the eggs. Beat the whites with salt to stiff peaks; beat yolks with powdered sugar until light and creamy. Gently fold into the cooled chocolate-butter mixture. Fold in the meringue. Sift flour over and gently fold in cocoa and walnuts.

  3. 3.

Preheat the oven to 160 °C fan. Butter the tart pan.

  4. 4.

Roll out the dough and line the pan. Pour in the chocolate filling, smooth it and bake for about 50 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

  5. 5.

Dust walnut halves with powdered sugar, place on top of the tart and serve.
