Mulled Wine with Juice

The mulled wine with juice from Spoonsparrow tastes wonderfully spicy and fruity at the same time!

Ingredients

  • 2 organic oranges
  • 25 cloves
  • 200 ml gooseberry juice (or other berry juice)
  • 600 ml light dry red wine
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

    Wash the oranges. Cut one orange into 8-10 wedges. Skewer each wedge with 4-5 cloves. Squeeze the juice from a second orange. Bring together the juice, remaining orange wedges, berry juice, red wine, honey, remaining cloves and cinnamon stick to a gentle boil.

    Let it simmer for about 10 minutes at low heat. Distribute the spiced orange wedges into glasses and pour the mulled wine (through a sieve if desired) over them. Serve immediately.
