A juicy chocolate cake in a jar: making cakes in advance is no problem with this recipe from Spoonsparrow.

Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 200 g soft butter
  • 8 eggs
  • 100 g whole cane sugar
  • 150 g Whole wheat flour
  • 50 g ground almonds

Instructions

  1. 1.

Chop the chocolate and melt 150 g over a bain-marie. Whisk the butter until fluffy. Separate the eggs. Gradually fold the yolks and melted chocolate into the butter.

  2. 2.

Whip the egg whites with sugar to stiff peaks, then gently fold them into the chocolate mixture. Mix the flour with almonds and remaining chocolate, and fold this in as well. Spoon the batter into jars and bake in a preheated oven at 160 °C (fan 140 °C; gas: level 2) for about 40 minutes.

  3. 3.

Remove from oven, place lids on top, and let cool. This keeps the little chocolate cakes moist.
