Meatball Casserole with Mashed Potato Topping

Ingredients
- 500 g starchy potatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 red bell peppers
- 1 stalk Celery
- 800 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 250 ml Beef broth
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 tbsp sweet paprika
- 100 ml hot milk
- 4 tbsp butter
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)

Peel, wash and boil the potatoes in salted water for about 25 minutes. Dice the onion finely. Wash, deseed and dice the bell peppers. Clean the celery, optionally pull out the strands and slice into thin rounds. Brown the ground beef in hot oil until crumbly; add onions, peppers, celery and tomato paste and cook for 2-3 minutes. Pour in the broth and simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and paprika.

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan.

Drain the potatoes, let them dry and mash them. Stir in hot milk and 2 tbsp butter; season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Fill a baking dish with the meat mixture, spread the mashed potato topping over it and dot with remaining butter pieces. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
