Matjes in the Traditional Housewife Style – Smarter

The Matjes prepared in the traditional housewife style from Spoonsparrow is convincing with its light and aromatic character!

Ingredients

  • 2 small onions
  • 2 small gherkins
  • 2 sour apples
  • 0.5 lemon
  • 400 g yogurt (3.5% fat)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 400 g double Matjes fillet (4 double Matjes fillets)
  • 0.5 bunch Chives

Instructions

    Peel the onions and cut them into fine strips.

    Finely dice the gherkins.

  3. 3.

    Wash the apples, quarter them and remove the core. Slice the apple quarters thinly across. Squeeze the lemon.

    Mix yogurt, 2 tsp of lemon juice, salt and pepper. Fold in the prepared ingredients.

    Place the Matjes fillets on a plate and spread the sauce over them.

  6. 6.

    Alternatively, cut the Matjes fillets into small pieces and mix them into the sauce. Wash the chives, shake them dry, cut them into fine rolls and sprinkle them over the Matjes. Goes well with whole grain bread.
