Mashed Potatoes with Cabbage and Horseradish
Mashed potatoes with cabbage and horseradish: More than just potatoes—mashed and refined with cabbage and horseradish.
Ingredients
- 500 g waxy potatoes
- Salt
- 300 g small cabbage (0.5 small cabbage)
- 2 small onions
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 100 ml milk (1.5% fat)
- Pepper
- 1 piece horseradish (about 3 cm long)
Instructions
-
1.
Wash, peel, and cube the potatoes. Bring to a boil in salted water and simmer covered for 20 minutes.
-
2.
While the potatoes cook, trim the cabbage, remove the core if necessary, and cut into very fine strips across the leaf veins.
-
3.
Peel and finely dice the onions.
-
4.
Heat oil in a pan. Add onion cubes and sauté for 2 minutes over medium heat until translucent. Add cabbage and steam for 3 minutes while stirring.
-
5.
Pour in milk and bring to a boil once. Season with salt and pepper.
-
6.
Drain the potatoes and let them steam off briefly. Roughly mash the potatoes with a potato masher.
-
7.
Add the mashed potatoes to the cabbage mixture and stir through.
-
8.
Peel the horseradish, grate finely, and mix into the mashed potatoes. Season everything with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
