Ingredients

  • 400 g waxy potatoes
  • Salt
  • 400 g savoy cabbage
  • 60 g Butter
  • 4 Spring Onions
  • 150 ml warm milk
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • nutmeg

    Quarter the potatoes and cook them in boiling salted water for about 30 minutes. Drain, mash with a potato masher, and let steam off. Wash, trim, and slice the cabbage into strips. Blanch in salted water for about 10 minutes, remove with a slotted spoon, and drain. Clean, wash, dry, and cut the spring onions into rings.

    Melt half of the butter in a large pot, add the cabbage and spring onions, and sauté until translucent while stirring. Combine the cabbage mixture with the mashed potatoes. Add warm milk gradually until the consistency is creamy. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and serve with a piece of the remaining butter on top.
