- 200 g butter
- flour (for work surface)
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 30 peeled walnut kernel halves
- 100 ml milk
- 300 g marzipan raw mass
- 10 ml walnut liqueur
- 80 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
-
1.
For the dough, mix flour with ground walnuts, sugar and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle onto the work surface, create a well in the center, crack the egg into it and scatter butter pieces around the well. Quickly knead all ingredients by hand into a smooth dough, shape into a ball and wrap in cling film. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
-
2.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with top and bottom heat.
-
3.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.3 cm thickness and cut out heart shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes.
-
4.
Remove, lift the cookies off the parchment with a spatula and let cool.
-
5.
Spread half of the cookies with chocolate, top each with a walnut half and allow to dry.
-
6.
For the filling, heat milk over low heat and remove from flame. Crumble marzipan into the warm milk and stir until creamy. Let cool, mix in liqueur, and fill a piping bag fitted with a smooth tip.
-
7.
Pipe the marzipan cream onto the remaining cookies and cover each with a chocolate heart.
-
8.
Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice, drizzle over the cookies, let dry, and serve.
