Marinated Orange Slices

Ingredients

  • 4 small blood oranges
  • 40 ml Marsala wine
  • 40 ml orange liqueur
  • Juice of one blood orange
  • 0.5 tsp ground vanilla
  • mint (for garnish)

Instructions

    Peel oranges thoroughly with a sharp knife, removing the white pith, slice crosswise into about 0.5 cm thick rounds and catch the released juice.

    Stir Marsala, orange liqueur, orange juice, and vanilla together and pour over the orange slices. Let stand for 1 hour. For serving arrange the orange slices with a bit of sauce in dessert bowls and garnish with mint.
