Ingredients

  • 2 untreated lemons (zest)
  • 60 ml Limoncello
  • 250 ml milk (3.5%)
  • 250 ml whipping cream (30%)
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 75 g honey
  • 4 strawberries
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

    Wash, trim and pat dry the strawberries.

    Whisk together the milk, cream, honey and Limoncello and bring to a boil, then remove from heat. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar in a bowl until creamy. Slowly pour the warm cream‑milk mixture into the yolk mixture in a thin stream while whisking; return everything to the pot and whisk over low flame until thickened into a sauce, do not let it boil. Finally stir in the lemon zest and allow the custard to cool slightly with occasional stirring. Then divide about one third of the custard among four narrow glasses, place one strawberry in each glass and top with the remaining custad. Dust lightly with powdered sugar and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour until completely set.
