Ingredients
- 250 g room temperature butter
- 250 g sugar
- 5 eggs
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 500 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 packet Lebkuchengewürz
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tbsp fresh cheese (pure)
- 5 tbsp whipping cream
- 5 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 160°C fan.
-
2.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat until light and frothy. Add salt. Mix flour, baking powder, Lebkuchengewürz, and cocoa powder, then fold into the batter. Gradually stir in milk; add more if the dough is not supple enough.
-
3.
Pour the batter into a greased Gugelhupf tin and bake on the lower rack for about 60 minutes (cover with foil if necessary, test with a toothpick). Cool the finished cake on a wire rack.
-
4.
For the glaze whisk fresh cheese and cream together. Add powdered sugar and vanilla sugar, mix well. Spread the glaze over the cold cake and let it flow down. Chill for 1-2 hours.
