The Lángos Recipe (Basic Recipe) from Spoonsparrow is super easy. Why not try making these Hungarian flatbreads yourself?

Ingredients

  • 500 g Wheat flour type 1050
  • 200 ml lukewarm milk (3.5% fat)
  • 0.5 cube Yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 100 ml Rapeseed oil

Instructions

  1. 1.

Place the flour in a bowl, form a well in the center, add 50 ml lukewarm milk and crumble the yeast into it. Mix with a little flour and let rise for about 30 minutes under a cover.

  2. 2.

Then add the remaining lukewarm milk, 150 ml lukewarm water and 1 tsp of salt and knead everything into a smooth dough (you may need a little more or less water). Let rise again for about 30 minutes under a cover.

  3. 3.

Oil your hands, tear off small portions of dough and form small flatbreads (diameter 15-20 cm) from them, stretching them thin. Heat oil in a deep pan or pot and fry the Lángos for about 1-2 minutes per side. Then drain on kitchen paper.
