Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 500 g ground lamb
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp hot paprika powder
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 4 thin pita breads
  • 0.5 iceberg lettuce head
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 0.25 Cucumber
  • 8 sprigs parsley
  • 4 tbsp plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel the garlic cloves and onion, finely dice them and add to the ground lamb. Add 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp water, paprika powders, salt, and pepper; mix thoroughly. With damp hands shape the mixture into small patties about 6 cm in diameter. Heat a pan with 2-3 tbsp olive oil and fry the lamb patties all around for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2.

Toast the pita breads briefly on both sides in a hot pan, cut them in half, slit a pocket, and open them up.

  3. 3.

Separate large leaves from the iceberg lettuce, wash and pat dry. Wash the tomatoes, remove the stem ends, and slice thinly. Shake the parsley dry after washing. Slice the cucumber thinly. Brush the flatbreads with yogurt. Then fill them with lettuce leaves, tomato and cucumber slices, lamb patties, and parsley. Serve with extra yogurt and a mint tea if desired.
