Ingredients

  • 4 delicate matjes fillets
  • 4 juniper berries
  • 4 tsp gin
  • 1 bundle dill
  • 8 g mayonnaise
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 1 Shallot
  • 16 small rectangular crackers

Instructions

    Rinse the matjes fillets and pat them dry.

    Finely chop or crush the juniper berries. Rinse the dill, shake it dry, and roughly tear it apart.

    Rub the matjes fillets with 2 tsp gin and the juniper berries. Sprinkle dill on top and cover for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

    Whisk mayonnaise with a pinch of salt and pepper. Peel the shallot and dice it very finely. Stir the shallot cubes and remaining gin into the mayonnaise.

    Spread the mayonnaise onto the crackers. Cut the matjes fillets into small pieces and place them on top.
