Ingredients

  • 500 g red currants
  • 500 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

    Wash the currants, pat them dry and drain. Bring 500 ml water and the lemon juice to a boil with the sugar and simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add the berries and lightly mash them with a potato masher. Cover the pot and let steep for at least 4 hours.

    Afterward strain through a fine sieve and collect the liquid. Bring it to a boil again and fill into bottles that have been rinsed hot. Seal well and allow to cool.
