Homemade Spiced Broth
Making spiced broth yourself is easier than you think. With the Spoonsparrow recipe it’s guaranteed to succeed!
Ingredients
- 3 onions
- 4 Carrots
- 150 g celery root
- 0.5 stalk leek
- 6 tomatoes
- 1 handful parsley
- 60 g sea salt

Make homemade spiced broth: peel and dice the onions, carrots, and celery root. Slice the leek lengthwise, rinse under running water, clean, shake dry, and dice it too. Wash the parsley, shake dry, and roughly chop. Wash the tomatoes, remove stems and seeds, and cube the flesh.

Preheat the oven to 80°C fan.

Blend the vegetables with parsley and sea salt into a fine puree. Spread the mash onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for at least 8 hours, leaving a small gap in the door with a wooden spoon handle. Turn the mass occasionally until fully dried.

Grind the powder again in a blender to a fine consistency and store it in an airtight glass jar as desired.
