Homemade croutons from Spoonsparrow pair well with any soup, salad or a quick snack!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of day‑old spelt bread
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. 1.

    If desired, remove crusts from the spelt bread and cut into strips, diamonds or cubes. Peel the garlic and slice thinly.

    Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the bread cubes over medium heat for about 5 minutes until golden brown, turning occasionally. Add the garlic during the last 1–2 minutes and season with salt at the end. Drain and let cool.
