Ingredients

  • 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
  • 600 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • flour (for the work surface)
  • oil (for the baking sheets)
  • 300 g cooked ham (sliced)
  • 1 can pineapple chunks (about 850 ml)
  • 400 g peeled tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • pepper (ground)
  • 200 g freshly grated cheese (e.g., Gouda)
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. 1.

Dissolve the yeast in 300 ml lukewarm water. Mix flour with salt, place in a bowl, create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and oil. Knead by hand into a smooth dough and knead vigorously on a floured surface for about 10 minutes. If the dough feels too wet or dry, add a bit more flour or lukewarm water. Return the dough to the bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour.

  2. 2.

While the dough rises, grease the baking sheets. Cut the ham into 2x2 cm cubes. Drain the pineapple well. Puree the tomatoes finely and season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) fan‑forced heat. Knead the dough again on a floured surface, divide it into four equal portions, roll each to fit a baking sheet, and line the sheets with the dough.

  3. 3.

Shape a slightly thicker edge. Spread tomato sauce over the dough, top with ham and pineapple, sprinkle cheese, lightly grind pepper over it, add oregano, and bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Remove and serve immediately.
