Tomato-Mango Salad

A popular Caprese-style salad featuring tomatoes and mozzarella is expanded with fresh mango for a vibrant twist.

Ingredients

  • 500 g tomatoes (various colorful varieties)
  • 400 g mango (1 mango)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 romaine lettuce head
  • 2 Spring Onions
  • 4 Basil stems
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 125 g buffalo mozzarella

Instructions

    Wash the tomatoes and cut off the stem ends. Slice the tomatoes into wedges. Peel the mango, remove the flesh from the pit and cut it into wedges. Combine tomato and mango wedges in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Let rest for about 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile clean, wash, dry, and tear or chop the romaine lettuce into bite‑sized pieces. Wash, dry, and slice the spring onions into rings. Add the lettuce and spring onions to the bowl with tomatoes and mango and mix.

    Wash basil, shake off excess water, and finely chop the leaves. Mix basil, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil into the salad. Season again with salt and pepper.

    Drain the buffalo mozzarella and tear or cut it into pieces. Arrange the tomato‑mango salad on a plate and distribute the cheese over the top.
