Ham Roast in Bread Dough

Ingredients
- 0.8 kg turkey ham
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- 250 g flour
- 20 g yeast
- 0.1 l milk
- 1 tsp sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 3 eggs
- 30 g Butter
- 2 egg yolks

Rub the ham on all sides with salt and pepper.

For the dough, let a third of the flour rise with crumbled yeast, milk, and sugar for 20 minutes. Knead the remaining flour, salt, eggs, and butter vigorously, then allow to rise for another 30 minutes. Knead again and chill for 30 minutes.

Afterward, flatten on a floured surface, optionally take a small dough ball for decoration, press the meat in, and firmly seal the ends. From the rest of the dough braid or shape into layers and place atop the bread loaf. Brush with egg yolk. Preheat oven to 180°C and bake the ham for about 40-50 minutes. Let it rest in the turned-off oven for 10 minutes.
