Ham, Beer, and Onion Timbale

Ingredients

  • butter (for the molds)
  • 500 g waxy potatoes
  • 2 Spring Onions
  • 100 g cooked ham (sliced)
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 100 ml whipping cream
  • 100 ml light beer
  • 3 eggs
  • 50 g freshly grated Parmesan
  • Nutmeg (freshly grated)
  • pepper (ground)
  • Salt
  • thyme (for garnish)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C with fan and top heat. Butter four timbales (about 350 ml capacity).

    Peel and dice the potatoes into small cubes. Wash, trim, and slice the spring onions into strips; set aside some for garnish. Slice the ham into strips and reserve a few for garnish as well. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Combine all prepared ingredients and spread them in the molds.

    Whisk together the cream, beer, eggs, and Parmesan; season with nutmeg, pepper, and salt. Pour over the potatoes and bake in the oven for about 40 minutes until golden brown.

    Before serving, pour out of the molds and garnish with spring onions, ham, and thyme. Serve hot.
