Anyone who loves cake will love the Gugelhupf from Spoonsparrow! It is easy to prepare and consistently delights both young and old.

Ingredients

  • 180 g butter
  • 180 g sugar
  • 2 EL lemon juice
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt
  • 360 g flour
  • 2 TL baking powder
  • 100 ml milk

  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C with upper and lower heat.

    Cream together butter, sugar, and lemon juice; gradually fold in eggs with a pinch of salt. Mix flour with baking powder and alternately stir into the butter mixture with milk.

    Grease a Gugelhupf pan with butter and dust it with flour. Pour the batter evenly into the pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, checking with a skewer. Cover the cake with buttered parchment paper in time. Remove from oven, cool, then set aside to chill completely. Dust with powdered sugar and serve cut into pieces.
