Grissini Broomsticks with Dip
Ideal for the Halloween party
Ingredients
- 0.5 cube Yeast
- 300 g flour
- 1 pinch sugar
- 50 g wheat semolina
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp light sesame seeds
- 120 g freshly grated cheddar cheese
- 24 chives
Instructions

Dissolve the yeast in 140 ml lukewarm water. Mix the flour with the sugar, semolina, and salt in a bowl; create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and oil. Knead quickly by hand into a smooth dough, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F) with upper and lower heat.

Take half of the dough onto a floured surface, shape it into a sausage, cut into about 12 pieces. Roll each piece into a stick about 20-25 cm long and coat in sesame seeds.

Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes.

Remove and let cool.

Shape the remaining dough into a sausage, divide into 12 pieces, roll each into a thin stick about 0.5 cm wide, then cut into 8 equal pieces. Place on another parchment-lined sheet, sprinkle with cheese, and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.

Wrap eight small grissini around the end of a large grissini and secure with two chives each. Arrange on a serving platter and serve with dips such as cream cheese horseradish dip, paprika dip, or herb tomato dip at your discretion.
