Grilled Tomatoes with Capers and Lemon Zest

Ingredients

  • 1 kg eggplant tomatoes
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Sea salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • olive oil
  • 0.5 lemon (zest and juice)
  • capers

Instructions

    Wash the tomatoes, remove the stem ends and slice them lengthwise into not-too-thin slices. Sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Grill in a hot grill pan for about 1 minute per side.

    Remove from heat, arrange on a plate, drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with lemon zest and capers before serving. Offer sesame bread on the side as desired.
